lots of time for fishing

this year at the beach we did some fishing.
it all started with my dad or maybe it was our neighbors, i'm not sure...  you see our neighbors came to the beach for fishing.  jumping the waves and laying in the sand was secondary to them, and most days they only came out early in the morning or late at night to fish.  shortly after seeing all the fishing gear on their deck my dad got his rod and reel out.  JD hadn't bought his fishing gear and neither had Paul (my sister's man), so early the first morning the guys headed out to aquire their gear and get fishing licenses.
and they were off.  the fishing extravaganza had begun.  early in the morning and some nights, late into the evening, the guys stood at the shoreline and fished.

here you can see my dad hook a big one.  well not really he was just doing this for show. (what a funny guy)

the guys in their usual positions along the shore - shirts off, rods out.

one of the catches of the week... a pin fish! (this little guy tossed back his first catch but the story lived on.)

i even gave it a shot one evening... lets just say i'm not real good.  to be honest i'm not good at all.  i could only cast like 15' in front of me... which isn't even far enough to catch a fish, but we all got a good laugh at my pittiful attempts.

  1. Fun!! I can't use a spin cast reel either. I use the flip one.
